Go Away Flu!!

Yuck Yuck! I have been down and out with the flu! I think I'm finally on the mend though so thanks to everyone for hanging in there with me while I kick these germs out the door for what I hope is for good.

On another note, isn't this Calgary weather INSANE? Come on mother nature - It's suppose to be spring! Bring on the sunshine and danfodils!

And just to talk up my husband who is the best, I'm going to shamelessly brag up my new toy he bought me this week. For once it's not some boring camera equipment. You can all appreciate this. I love it and love me my morning latte that I don't have to buy at Starbucks anymore.

I'm back in business this week so look out, I'll be talking photos, moments, and memories again soon! Until next time.....see my new best friend in the morning.

20 Years After the Storm

Hey Everyone!
If you are interested in a weekend session, book it before May long weekend, as summer is fast approaching and my weekends will be filled with the Canadian Rockies until September. We have a whole bunch of camping plans again this summer so my weekend availability will be very limited. With the nice weather right around the corner, I have some serious spring fever and can't wait to enjoy some great weekends with our friends and family out in mother nature. Whoo Hoo!!

I'm still trying to make time to go through all of my trip photos. Bringing me to the title for this post:

Meet my old cronies from high school. That's me in the middle of course, then Moncia on the left and Cara on the right:

These girls are my best pals from the good old days. We used to have a whole bunch of fun together back in high school. Too much fun sometimes if you know what I mean. The summer of 15 was a "really fun" time in particular. But 20 years after the storm and a combined total of 8 kids later we are all reformed and still kickin. These gals are the best and it was so good to see them! There is nothing like remembering back to your glory days with the very people who lived them with you.

Of course we had to make time to take few shots of new baby #8 at only 10 days old and what a pumpkin he is! Congrats Monica & Jay!

Until next time I leave you with the "sigh" that only a brand new baby can bring.....

Back Home to a New Blog

Hey There and Welcome! This is my new place to talk about all the goings on of my little corner of the globe including all the behind the scenes happenings with Moments By Shonda Photography.

The girls and I just got back from spending a week in the US. It was a happy and sad week. To start with the sad, we extended our stay to fit a funeral into the visit. While we were there, my Great-Grandma earned her angel wings. She lived 101 years and 26 days on this planet. Sometimes God really has a plan, as it was such a blessing to be there and be able to be part of her sendoff to heaven. What a lady and what a life! God Bless you Grandma!

Moving onto the happy, I got to see lots of family, some old best friends, and eat all of my "Ma's" best cookin' for a whole week. Yum! But the best part of the happy was spending time with my sister and meeting my perfect new nephew who I have been waiting to meet for 2 whole months. He is the sweetest little man ever and of all his Aunties, I love him the very very most. If you are thinking you detect some jealousy because his other Aunties get to live so close to him, you are thinking right! A week was just enough time to get completely attached to the little bundle and now I miss him a way whole bunch.

As much as I miss everyone, it's great to be home and back into the thick of things. With 50% off of portraits this month, now's the time to book. If you are interested in taking advantage of the special, contact me as soon as possible. I have a few open sessions left, but I'm limited on the number I can take.

Happy Spring Everyone!

See how sweet
