Just a quick post to let everyone know that I will be away from July 25th - August 5th and will respond to all session inquires and emails when I return.
Other than a few weekend trips here and there, this will be our last big camping trip of the summer. We are off to visit our neighbors to the east and see what Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park has to offer.
Happy Summer to All!

Small Town Happiness
We spent last weekend in our trailer camping of course. This time in Longview, AB enjoying all the good things a small town celebration has to offer. It reminded me of my childhood days growing up in a small town. It was all about cowboys, parades, hot dogs, kids, and games. It was just a great time plain and simple.
Before I leave you with some of my memories from the weekend, I have some Moments By Shonda business that I promised I would get to this week so I best get to gettin.
Holiday Sessions:
Starting September 2nd additional sessions will be available evenings and weekends for holiday sessions. Please contact me directly for detailed times and dates. In order to receive your portraits and products by Christmas, all sessions must be completed and ordered by November 30th.
In order to secure your session date, be sure and book early as availability is limited.
And finally a few shots from a weekend to remember:
This is the look a photographer's kid gets more often than not :-) I love my little cowgirl

My big girl who was being a kid at the petting zoo. I love this girl and I love moments like this. They are so much more appreciated once the teenage years come to life.

Trying my hand at some high action rodeo shots... lol. I think I found something that moves faster than a 2 yr old - rodeo stock. I had about as much luck as the poor cowboy did on this pony.

A photographer's kid when she doesn't know you're there with the camera - much better!

Christmas in July
I'm back from the always beautiful British Columbia where we had a wonderful week away from reality with our best buds.
As much as I LOVE LOVE this time of year.....
"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" Ok, not really, but in photography land the reality is sinking in that summer is half over and with the back to school time that will be here before we know it, comes this fact: 'tis going to be the season soon, and believe it or not, it's time to start thinking about your holiday photos. Stay tuned for next week's post where I'll be putting out the schedule for sessions. Availability will be limited and scheduled on a first come first serve basis.
I'm still trying to find the time to go through the bazillion shots I took last week, but for now, here are a few:
I just love this one. No, I did not pick out the socks - she did and that's why I love her so much... what an individual:

An Ice Cream Break at Ft Steel:

My weak attempt at a sunset over our little lake that we were camping next to. I really need to take a nature/landscape course seeing as how I love it but am clueless:

There is a story here... This member of our party was picked as a "volunteer" to help out the cast of this play for a grand finale. We'll call him... Jamie Comstock. They made it very clear at the beginning of this melodramatic play that "NO PHOTOGRAPHY WAS ALLOWED DURING THE PERFORMANCE OR CAMERAS WOULD BE CONFISCATED AND THROWN INTO A CELLAR" Now, normally, I'm all about following the rules but this was just too good to pass up so I decided certainly they must have meant "flash photography", set my camera to a screaming high iso setting and did my best paparazzi stance to line my lens between the theatre chairs to get these shots. Excuse the quality... I did my best in a pickle but the memory is recorded forever... you're welcome Vicki!

"On The Road Again"
"Just can't wait to get on the road again"......
It seems like we just got home from our last camping adventure yet this morning, I have this little tune going through my head. I'm busy packing up some last minute things for a week long trip with our best camping buddies and friends. I know it must seem like I am always gone in the summer, and that's a little bit true. I may have mentioned that we LOVE camping and with the season being so short, we take every chance we get when the weather Gods are smiling.
I'm off to beautiful British Columbia which I also LOVE, and will be back on Monday, July 14th when I will return all emails & phone messages. Despite summer being such a crazy time, I do have a few open sessions in July and Aug so remember to book now and take advantage of the summer specials(see June 23rd post for details).
For now, here are a couple of best friends forever who love camping as much as their parents do!
